You have that one fic--maybe more than one--that stopped updating in 2012 and you've been hoping against hope that the writer will come back to it (even though you know she's not gonna).
That's were YOU come in! In this contest, you get to choose which unfinished gem, which unpolished diamond, you are going to continue!
Some rules are as follows (more may apply as we get closer to gametime):</br>
- You must do due diligence and TRY to locate the author of the original fic and obtain her permission. Please provide us, your contest admins, with a written statement that you are permitted to use her story in the confines of this competition. If you absolutely cannot find the author, they go ahead and write, but understand that she can have it taken down if she ever comes back and sees it.<br>
- Twilight fics only. No crossovers, no other fandoms.
- 10K word limit, so you won't necessarily finish these fics, either. Still, write well, We don't want to see rushed summaries. Hit the highlights of what went on in your head when you read.
- If you choose to retell a story from another character's POV, it cannot just be the same words with names swapped out. It must be a completely new piece of writing.
- You do not have to do what the original writer was going to do, but please have a little respect; these are someone else's characters you are borrowing.
- None of the stuff you're supposed to leave alone in these contests (bestiality, pedophilia, etc) unless the original author was going there already and you feel you can do it tastefully and without breaking any laws in your community.
- You may not enter to continue a story that is in any way your own (i.e., you were a co-writer but the story got abandoned and now you want to pick it up solo).
- You may collaborate in groups up to 3, but no more.
- Keep the secrets of who you are until the winners are revealed, please!
